2. סמכות רשות מקומית
רשות מקומית, באישור המועצה שלה, רשאית לפעול לאכיפת עבירות תעבורה בתחום שיפוטה; אכיפת עבירות התעבורה תהיה בהתאם להוראות חוק זה ובכפוף לנוהל ארצי שיחול על הרשויות המקומיות, שתגבש משטרת ישראל ויאשר היועץ המשפטי לממשלה.
