1. מטרת החוק
מטרתו של חוק זה לשחזר ולשמר, לפי הוראות חוק זה, את הבניין שבו שכנה הכנסת לראשונה בירושלים, בהיותו בעל חשיבות לאומית והיסטורית בתולדות העם והמדינה, ולהקים בו למען הציבור, מוזאון לתולדות הכנסת ולפועלה, שימלא גם תפקידים אחרים לפי חוק זה.
