המרכז יקים ויפעיל מכון לחקר מורשת מלחמת ששת הימים, שחרור ירושלים ואיחודה; המכון יפעל להעמקה של הידע על מלחמת ששת הימים והמערכה לשחרור ירושלים ולאיחודה, ומורשתן, וכן להעשרתו ולהפצתו של הידע כאמור, ולהגברת התודעה בנושאים אלה.
