השר, בהתייעצות עם שר הבריאות ושר החינוך – כל אחד בתחום האחריות של משרדו, יהיה אחראי לגיבוש המדיניות בתחום הביטחון התזונתי לגבי תושבי ישראל ויביאה לידיעת הממשלה.
