תוקפו של צו זה עד למועד תחילתן של תקנות לפי סעיף 24 לחוק, להכללת הנגיף בתוספת לחוק.
פורסמו תקנות הסדרת מחקרים במחוללי מחלות ביולוגיים (שינוי התוספת לחוק), התשפ״א–2020 (ק״ת תשפ״א, 994) להכללת נגיף הקורונה החדש 2019 (Novel Coronavirus 2019-nCoV) בתוספת לחוק, ולכן הצו פקע.
