17. אין הגבלת האחריות לפי דיני מדינת־חוץ
על אף האמור בכל דין, לא תתקבל בישראל טענתו של בעל כלי שיט או של מי שדינו כדין בעל כלי שיט לענין סעיף 6 לאמנה שעל פי האמור בדיני מדינת־חוץ, אחריותו לתביעות המוגשות נגדו מוגבלת לסכום מסויים, וכן לא תתקבל טענתו שרשאי הוא להשתחרר מאחריות כאמור על ידי הפקרתם של כלי השיט או של טובין אחרים.
