10. מינוי קצין שיפוט על־ידי היושב־ראש
היושב ראש ימנה בכתב קצין בדרגה הגבוהה ביותר ביחידה לאחר המפקד וסגנו כקצין שיפוט. עותק של כתב המינוי יועבר למפקח כבאות ראשי.
תפקיד ”מפקח כבאות ראשי“ לפי חוק שירותי הכבאות, תשי״ט–1959 הוחלף בתפקיד ”נציב כבאות והצלה“ לפי חוק הרשות הארצית לכבאות והצלה, התשע״ב–2012.
