אירעה תאונה או תקרית, רשאי החוקר הראשי למנות צוות המורכב מחוקר אחד או יותר (להלן – צוות) ולהורות לו על חקירת התאונה או התקרית במהירות האפשרית, בהתאם לנסיבות.
