6. תחילת הדיון
בתחילת הדיון יזהה הדן היחיד את הנאשם, יקרא לפניו את כתב התלונה ויביא לידיעתו כי הוא רשאי מנימוקים שיפרט, לבקש, את העברת הדיון לדן יחיד אחר; לא הועבר הדיון לדן יחיד אחר, יבקש הדן היחיד את תשובתו של הנאשם לכתב התלונה.
