Ran Danker went from the teen series HaShir Shelanu to the song of the year of 2021
Ran Danker was born in 1984 in Norfolk, Virginia, and came to Israel at the age of two and a half. He became famous from 2004 in the yes musical series HaShir Shelanu, which won him the Golden Screen award, and in the same years he twice took first place in the Festigal song contest, with Ish HaBarak (2005) and Lev Amitz (2006).
In 2007 he released Shavim with the musician Ilai Botner, and the two were named band of the year. On screen he led Danny Hollywood, The Gordin Cell and Miguel and was nominated for Ophir Awards for Eyes Wide Open (2009) and Doubtful (2017); at Habima he won the 2016 Klachkin Prize for Taken at Midnight and for playing Che in Evita.
His 2021 single Beit Meshugaim spent 12 straight weeks at the top of the Galgalatz chart, a station record, and was named song of the year by Galgalatz and Kan Gimel. He has since judged X Factor Israel and HaKokhav HaBa, starred in Cabaret at the Cameri and released the live album Caesarea (2025).
