Tamir Bar left a high-tech job to play guitar on the street, and ended up on Eretz Nehederet

Tamir Bar was born in Tel Aviv in 1986 and began performing at open-stage nights in 2005, with comic acts that mixed singing, playing and dancing. He studied industrial engineering and management at Ben-Gurion University and worked in high-tech, then quit to play guitar on the street at Nahalat Binyamin.

In October 2016 he began making web videos for Kan 11, and in 2020 Kan released The Rise and Fall of Shem Tov Heavy, a short film he wrote and starred in as a rapper. Its song Sam Hardama made the Kan Gimel annual chart, the film topped YouTube Israel's list of 2020's trending videos, and it won him ACUM's album of the year award in 2021.

He joined Eretz Nehederet for its eighteenth season in 2020, and in the nineteenth he wrote and starred in a sketch series about Israeli high-tech that made his word haytex part of Israeli slang. He has since acted in Kupa Rashit and Berlin Blues, released the album HaHofesh HaGadol in 2022, and made the sequel film Shem Tov Heavy 2 in 2025.
