Yonatan Barak started at the Camel Comedy Club's open-mic night and is now touring his eighth stand-up show
Yonatan Barak was born in Tel Aviv in 1983. In high school he was in the theatre workshop of the Bikurei HaIttim centre, and after school he started performing at the Camel Comedy Club's open-mic night. Right after the army he joined the panel of Yatush BaRosh for about 25 episodes, then wrote for comedy shows, among them Lior Schleien's Grill, and was one of the developers of HaLaila Im Lior Schleien.
In December 2007 he went out with his first solo stand-up show, followed in 2010 by Ego Trip. On screen he played Udi in Irit Linor's series Mishmoret (2007) and police reporter Ariel Tzur in the telenovela Chasufim, starred in the film Kasamba (2010), and was head writer of the Israeli version of the animated series Celebs on yes (2009), voicing several of its characters, himself included.
Since 2016 he has posted each full stand-up show on his YouTube channel as a special, around the time a new show opens: HaDavar HaAmiti (2016), Ta'im U'Matok (2018), Psychopat (2019), Kafkafim Retuvim (2021), Sinat Chinam (2022) and Fake News (2024). His shows are built on comic stories from his own life. In 2025 he produced the wrestling show Wrestling Israel, and in 2026 he is touring his eighth show, Abale.
