These are the questions parents ask about the school calendar.

When is the next school holiday in Israel?

In official Jewish schools and kindergartens, the next one is this: Hanukkah, 6 to 12 December.

Is there school tomorrow?

That depends on the kind of school, since Jewish, Haredi, Arab and Druze schools keep different calendars. Pick the school in the box at the top of this page and it answers for today and for tomorrow.

When does the 2026-27 school year end?

On Wednesday 30 June 2027 in kindergartens and elementary schools, on Sunday 20 June in middle and high schools, and on Friday 18 June in Haredi high schools.

How many days of study does a school year have?

In official Jewish elementary schools and kindergartens, at least 185 with a five-day week and 221 with a six-day week. In middle schools the numbers are 177 and 212, and in high schools 175 and 210.

Do Arab and Druze schools have the same holidays?

No. Arab schools have a winter break and a spring break instead of Hanukkah and Passover. Druze schools have both of those and four Druze holidays of their own. All of them have their own notices from the Ministry.

The Ministry published nine notices, one for each kind of school.

Every date on this page is from the Ministry of Education's notices for the 2026-27 school year, published on 30 March 2026 and checked on 2 November 2026. A school's own notice to parents comes first if it differs.
