The Purim school holiday is on 23 and 24 March 2027
Official schools and kindergartens are off on Tuesday 23 and Wednesday 24 March, and classes resume on Thursday 25 March.
141days to go
This is the break day by day in official schools.
- Two days off cover Purim and Shushan Purim, so a child in Jerusalem and a child anywhere else get the same break.
- The Fast of Esther, on Monday 22 March, is a school day in official schools, and recognized schools close for it.
- Classes resume on a Thursday, so a school with a five-day week has one day of lessons before the weekend.
Not every kind of school keeps the same days.

Every date on this page is from the Ministry of Education's notices for the 2026-27 school year, published on 30 March 2026 and checked on 2 November 2026. A school's own notice to parents comes first if it differs.
