Coral Beach Marina, Eilat

Aharon Adi's fish and seafood restaurant on the Coral Beach marina, which began in Sharm el-Sheikh and moved to Eilat in 1982

The Last Refuge, HaMiflat HaAcharon in Hebrew, is a fish and seafood restaurant on the marina at Coral Beach, in the south of Eilat, and mako's guide of May 2026 called it Aharon Adi's Eilat institution. It began in the late 1970s on Na'ama Beach in Sharm el-Sheikh, which was then, Walla wrote in 2012, the southernmost point of the Israeli-held Sinai; there was nothing south of Sharm, Adi said, and so the name. When Sinai was evacuated in 1982 the restaurant moved to Coral Beach. Adi, who grew up in Haifa cleaning and cooking fish as a boy, has been with it since the Sinai days, and before the pandemic, ynet reported in 2020, he ran it with his wife Pnina, his son Guy and 40 staff, most of them students. By its own account the room is all sea: fishing nets hang from the ceiling, souvenirs cover the walls, the tablecloths are blue and white, and the windows look out on the boats in the marina and the Red Sea; mako wrote of tables right on the marina's pier. The kitchen grills fish over charcoal and also steams, fries and bakes it, and the menu adds seafood in cream and garlic sauces, crab, fish and seafood soups, pastas and a few meats from the grill. Its own flagship dishes, it said in 2015, are the seafood shell and, among the fish, the white grouper. In October 2025 mako chose its fish and seafood as Eilat's dish in "30 dishes, 30 cities", naming the creamed dishes served in a large shell, the ikra and the shrimp skewers grilled over coals, and in March 2025 Calcalist put it among the best fish restaurants in Israel. It opens every day, Saturday included, and its website advises booking ahead in the tourist seasons, at weekends and on holidays. It is not kosher.

These are the hours on its website's contact page, and the tourism site eilat.city and Time Out's page of 2016 give the same. Its Google listing, as Wanderlog and Restaurant Guru copy it and as its Tabit record copied it on 28 September 2026, has it open from 13:00 to 22:00 every day, and its booking schedule on Tabit, last changed in October 2023, runs from 12:30 to 22:30. Its Instagram bio, as search results show it, gives Sunday to Wednesday 16:00 to 22:30 and Thursday and Friday 13:00 to 22:30. eilat.city's Hebrew page gives Monday to Saturday 12:30 to 22:30, d.co.il 10:00 to 23:30 every day, and 2eat 13:00 to 17:00 and 18:00 to 23:30.
