An ice-cream patisserie on the Carmel where the gelato is made behind a large laboratory window by a pastry chef who trained in Bologna and Berlin

Eissalon is an ice-cream patisserie on the 4th floor of the shopping centre at 7 Oskar Schindler Street in Haifa. Its site says the idea was born while its founders, Adva Barak Liani and Shion Liani, were posted in Germany: Eis is German for ice cream, and together the name means an ice-cream salon. Adva is a pastry chef who retrained in gelato in Bologna and Berlin and makes it in view of the customers, behind the large window of the laboratory, while Shion runs the business. The gelato follows the Italian way: made on the spot from fresh milk, cream, sugar, fruit and nuts. The business also has a production patisserie at the Tabor Winery compound and takes orders online.
