The Haifa Bay meat bistro where the kosher BP chain began in 2004, with burgers of beef ground on the premises every day and meats from its own smoker

BP opened in January 2004 on Sderot HaHistadrut, in the Check Post quarter of Haifa Bay, as a burger bar; its site says the letters stand for Burger Place, while its menu and the press write Burger Plus. In 2009 its founder, Yaakov (Kobi) Cohen, who heads the chain, made it kosher, and its certificate today is the Haifa rabbinate's, for meat. It is the chain's first branch, its "mother branch" as the site puts it; the other two are roadside diners at Paz filling stations on the Coastal Road at the Netanya junction and at the Ruppin junction. The burger is still the dish the menu is built around: beef ground on the premises every day and made one patty at a time. Around it the menu, which it renews every few months, has grown to asado smoked for 12 hours, half chickens smoked for four, steaks, home-made kebab, lamb ribs, hummus plates, sloppy joes, pastas, Asian dishes and fish, with a bar of cocktails, spirits and wines, and meals for children up to 7. The kitchen is open to the dining room, which runs over two floors and a covered balcony; a gallery floor takes events of up to 75 guests, and a private room with a projector seats up to 18. Set lunches are served from 11:30 to 17:00. It is closed on Shabbat, and on Friday for the time being, and opens again about an hour and forty minutes after Shabbat ends. It delivers to the Krayot, Nesher, the lower city, Hadar and Neve Sha'anan through its own ordering page. In 2022 mako wrote that of the chain's branches, this first one remains the favourite.

Sources disagree on these hours

Its own site gives no closing time: it opens at 11:30 from Sunday to Thursday and stays open until the last customers leave, is closed on Friday for the time being, and opens on Saturday night about an hour and forty minutes after Shabbat ends. The closing times here are its Google listing's, as the copy in its Tabit booking record, dated 24 September 2026, gives them: 23:30 from Sunday to Wednesday, midnight on Thursday and 00:30 on Saturday night, when Google has it opening at 22:00. Restaurant Guru's copy of the listing gives the same weekday times. Rest gives 12:00 to midnight on weekdays and opening two hours after Shabbat, and its Tabit booking schedule, last changed in 2022, still has Friday from 11:30 to 16:00. Deliveries start at 12:00 and run until midnight from Sunday to Wednesday, with none between 20:00 and 22:00, and until 20:00 on Thursday.
