Chef Alaa Musa's Italian food bar by Haifa's port, with pizzas from the taboon, raw fish and seafood on small plates, next door to his LUX

Crudo, Italian for raw, is chef Alaa Musa's Italian and Mediterranean food bar on HaNamal Street, the street that runs along the port in Haifa's lower city, next door to LUX, his first restaurant in Haifa. By its own account it pays tribute to northern Italian cooking, served on small plates with local twists, and Musa and his partner Ahmad Assadi opened it after LUX's success; Kolbo reported its trial run in June 2022, and LUX's site dates it to 2022. Musa, who was born in Akko, began at 15 at Uri Buri there, studied at the Dan Gourmet school in Haifa and worked at Carmela BaNachala in Tel Aviv and in Michelin-starred restaurants in Sweden; Kolbo named him Haifa's chef of the year in 2022, and in December 2025 he added Salt, a fish street-food place in the lower city. The menu runs from focaccia and pizzas out of the taboon, a shrimp pizza among them, to a section of raw dishes (sea fish crudo, sashimi, tartare and red tuna carpaccio), veal and sirloin, shrimp, scallops and tuna, fish and seafood pastas and vegetarian dishes, with a mostly Italian wine list and cocktails. The press has singled out its freekeh arancini and its charcoal-grilled fish skewer on fettuccine with pickled lemon and harissa, and ynet's critic wrote in 2022 that its albacore was one of the best fish dishes of the time. Guests sit at the taboon bar, at the drinks bar or at tables outside on the pavement; mako counted about 90 seats and three bar areas when it opened. Upstairs, the Private Gallery takes private events of 8 to 18 guests, with its own bar overlooking the room below. mako put it among Haifa's 29 best restaurants in December 2024, and Time Out Israel's Haifa list of 2025 called it a young, feisty gastro bar that flirts with Italian cooking. It opens every day, Friday and Saturday included, from noon to 23:00, with 10% off the menu on weekday lunchtimes, and tables are booked through Ontopo, by phone or on WhatsApp. It is not kosher. The Carmelit's lower-city station is about 190 metres away, and Haifa Center HaShmona railway station about 650 metres.

Sources disagree on these hours

Its website gives 12:00 to 23:00 from Sunday to Saturday, and its booking page gives the same for every day. Its booking schedule on Ontopo agrees, adds that it stays open until the last guest on Sunday to Friday, and marks 12:00 to 17:00 on Sunday to Thursday as the hours of a 10% discount on the menu, not a separate opening; its Google listing, as Wanderlog and Restaurant Guru copy it, also gives 12:00 to 23:00 every day. Wolt delivers from it from 12:00 to 22:00. Israel Hayom in November 2024 and a Haifa guide site updated in December 2025 had it opening at 17:00 on Sunday to Wednesday, and d.co.il gives daytime hours that are not a restaurant's. When it opened in 2022 it served evenings only. No source gives a break between lunch and dinner.
