Cafe Sari is a neighbourhood café in the heart of Karmei Yosef, opened by the confectioner Sari Lotati, who moved to the village and made the place both a patisserie and a café. It serves coffee, breakfasts, pastries and home-style dishes, with sandwiches on sourdough bread and cheeses from Ivry Dairy, to eat in or take away. The counter holds loaf cakes, yeast cakes, crunch and mousse cakes and individual pâtisserie, and it makes birthday cakes to order and quiches, small ones or large ones for hosting. Beyond the daily café it is a cultural meeting point, with live shows and evenings of small, intimate performances by local and visiting bands.
