Golan Field School is run by the Society for the Protection of Nature in Israel in Katzrin, in the middle of the Golan Heights between the Sea of Galilee and Mount Hermon. It has 34 air-conditioned ground-floor rooms with their own shower and toilet, a wide lobby with WiFi, classrooms, a synagogue, lawns and seating corners, free parking for guests and a charging point for electric cars. Within walking distance are a route for seasoned hikers to the Zavitan waterfall and the pools of the upper Zavitan stream, the Ein Pahora spring and the Hatzavim promenade; a short drive away are sections of the Golan Trail, the Yehudiya reserve with the Yehudiya and Zavitan streams, the Gilabon stream, the Eit waterfall and Mount Bental. Breakfast is included and weekends are on half board, and over Sukkot it offered its guests trip advice in the lobby, guided stargazing with a telescope and free family walks. Animals and fires of any kind are not allowed in the grounds, which border nature reserves.
