The Golan Heights Distillery is a family-owned distillery in Katzrin, founded in 2014 by David and Alona Zibell, which makes whiskies from local grain and casks under the Golani name, along with gin, arak and absinthe. Its site says it released Israel's first-ever whisky on Independence Day in 2016. During opening hours visitors can walk in to the tasting room, choosing five tasters or a glass of their choice from the bar at a price that depends on the choice, and to the shop; a guided tour through the stages of production, with tastings, is by booking, as are visits by large groups. It is closed on Saturdays.
