A kosher chef's restaurant in Rishon LeZion's old industrial zone, serving one ten-course tasting menu built around Picual olive oil at a single evening seating, in a room of raw stone with an olive tree at its centre

Picual is a kosher chef's restaurant at 8 Barshavski Street, in the old industrial zone of Rishon LeZion, opened in August 2025 by the restaurateur Itzik Kadosh beside his two older kosher restaurants, Campania and Sorento. On its about page he tells how he decided in 2024 to open a new restaurant, built it with his own hands as he had his others, and gave it a year: three months of building, half a year on the menu, the wines and the design, and three months of tastings and trial runs, to make an Israeli fine-dining restaurant that is kosher mehadrin. The chef is Dor Binyamin, who came from Margo and from Yossi Shitrit's Hiba, as mako tells it; The Jerusalem Post wrote in August 2025 that he was 25 and had cooked for years in restaurants that were not kosher. The name is that of an olive variety, and the tasting menu, ten courses with no choice of dishes, is built around Picual olive oil from Meshek Achiya in Binyamin: a brioche challah wrapped on an olive branch with olive-oil butter, sea bass baked in salt with Picual leaves and finished in front of the diners, a cabbage dumpling filled with chicken musakhan, a beef tartare tartlet, sirloin with Jerusalem artichoke. The designer Hai Kostantini put an olive tree at the centre of a room of raw stone, desert plaster, river-pebble walls and iron mesh, with an open kitchen, and the dishes come on stones, trunks and branches. The guests sit down together at 20:30, from Monday to Thursday, for a meal its booking confirmation puts at about two and a half hours, and a wall of Israeli wines sells bottles at shop prices. The menu costs 450 shekels a person. Walla's Yaniv Granot put it sixth on his EAT list of the ten restaurants most worth going to in October 2025, mako called it the first haute-cuisine restaurant in Rishon LeZion, and its events page offers the room for private events with a menu and wines to match.

Its booking page on Tabit, which its website links, takes bookings for one seating at 20:30, from Monday to Thursday, and none on Sunday, Friday or Saturday. The closing time is from the press: mako (August 2025), The Jerusalem Post (August 2025), Channel 13 (September 2025) and Srugim (November 2025) all give Monday to Thursday, 20:30 to 23:30. Its website gives no hours. Its general schedule on Tabit, last updated in August 2025, shows 18:00 to midnight from Sunday to Thursday and 19:00 to midnight on Saturday, but its booking page offers only 20:30 on Monday to Thursday. mynet wrote in August 2025 that the tasting menu was served every evening in two seatings.
