A kosher dairy Italian restaurant in Rishon LeZion's old industrial zone, open since 2014, with fish baked whole in the taboon, pizzas and pastas

Sorento is a kosher dairy Italian restaurant at 8 Barshavski Street, in HaRova, Rishon LeZion's old industrial zone east of the city centre, which its own pages call the heart of the city's entertainment quarter. Its logo says it has been there since 2014 and marks its tenth year. It is named after the resort town of Sorrento on the Bay of Naples, which by its own account also inspired its design, and it describes its room as romantic. The restaurateur Itzik Kadosh owns it and Campania, a meat restaurant at the same address, as mynet wrote in August 2025, when he opened Picual, a kosher tasting-menu restaurant, beside them; mako described Sorento in April 2025 as run by him. Its website says its chef built the menu, without naming him. The menu runs from focaccias baked in the taboon, a burrata, a cheese ball and seared tuna to salads, pizzas such as bianca, medura and a purple pizza on beetroot cream, pastas in a choice of shape and sauce, and whole sea bream and sea bass baked in the taboon; the chef's special is a whole trout baked in a salt crust and filleted at the table. mako named the cheese ball and the burrata among its signature dishes, and Rishonet wrote in 2014 that it was known for specials created by chef Tzahi Rozelio, such as fried mushrooms stuffed with cheeses and sweet potato panzerotti. It has two private rooms and takes events of up to 120 guests, arranged by WhatsApp. It opens from Sunday to Thursday at noon, is closed on Friday and opens on Saturday night an hour after Shabbat ends. The religious council lists it as dairy, and its own pages say it is kosher mehadrin.

mako wrote in April 2025 that, as in earlier years, it would serve a kosher-for-Passover version of its regular menu, for those who eat kitniyot, under the supervision of the Rishon LeZion rabbinate.

Sources disagree on these hours

Its website gives Sunday to Thursday 12:00 to 23:00 and Saturday from an hour after Shabbat ends to 23:30, and no hours for Friday; its Ontopo page, its Tabit booking schedule and its Google listing all have it closed on Friday. Its Ontopo page gives 12:00 to 23:00 from Sunday to Wednesday, 12:00 to 23:45 on Thursday and on Saturday night from 20:30, saying that the time moves with the end of Shabbat, in both cases until the last guests leave. Its Google listing, as Wanderlog copies it, gives Sunday to Thursday 12:00 to 23:00 and Saturday 18:45 to 23:30; the copy of the same listing in its Tabit record, dated 3 September 2026, closes at 23:30 on Thursday and opens at 21:15 on Saturday. Rest gives Sunday to Thursday 18:00 to 23:00 and Saturday from half an hour after Shabbat ends to 23:00. Delivery and takeaway orders through Tabit are taken from 11:30 to 22:45 on weekdays and from 21:15 to 23:30 on Saturday night; those are ordering hours.
