The café, roastery and visitor centre of AgroCafe, an Israeli company that works with family coffee farms abroad, in Srigim (Li-On) in the Elah Valley

AgroCafe is an Israeli company, founded by Hanan Elkayam, that helps family coffee farms abroad cope with the effects of global warming: it installs irrigation and fertilising systems in their plantations and advises the farmers, in a partnership it describes as fair trade. It roasts the green beans from those farms in small batches, only after each order, at its roastery in Srigim (Li-On), where its café and visitor centre are too. The baristas brew single-origin coffees and blends in the third-wave spirit, by whatever method a guest chooses, beside yeast cakes, muffins, croissants and handmade boutique sandwiches on bread baked for the café every morning. Beans, cascara for brewing the coffee fruit, tasting kits, gift boxes and coffee equipment are on sale, and every Friday at 12:00 it runs a one-hour coffee workshop, a journey from coffee's beginnings in the ninth century to the third wave, with four tastings.
