Almog Cohen was born in 1988 in Beersheba
Cohen was born in Beersheba in 1988 to a father of Iranian Jewish descent and a mother of Tunisian Jewish descent. He grew up in Ofakim and studied at the Bnei Akiva yeshiva Afiki Eretz there. His mother's grandfather was Rabbi Eliyahu Hadad.
In the IDF he served in the Target Intelligence Unit. He then joined the police and served for 11 years, including in the Yasam unit and as an undercover agent. From 2018 to 2021 he owned a pancake restaurant in Beersheba.
In 2021 he cofounded the Negev Rescue Committee, which led the creation of a volunteer patrol to assist the police. The police first backed the group and later withdrew its support. In 2022 a Bedouin family asked to reopen a police brutality complaint against him over a 2013 incident.
Cohen joined Otzma Yehudit in 2021 and became its coordinator in the south. He was elected to the Knesset in 2022 from seventh place on the joint list with the Religious Zionist Party. In 2023 the Knesset ethics committee gave him a severe reprimand over a broadcast from the plenum, and Itamar Ben-Gvir removed him from the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee.
On 7 October 2023 he fought in the battle of Ofakim. He resigned from the Knesset on 6 April 2025 to become a deputy minister in the Prime Minister's Office.
