Isaac Wasserlauf was born in 1992 in Old City of Jerusalem

Wasserlauf was born on 14 August 1992 in the Old City of Jerusalem to a religious Zionist family. His father, Rabbi Yissachar, heads a yeshiva high school in Kokhav HaShahar. Wasserlauf studied at the Netiv Meir yeshiva high school and was a counselor in Bnei Akiva, and at 17 he became deputy head of the National Union youth wing.

He studied at the hesder yeshiva in Ma'alot and served in the Golani Brigade. After his service he continued at the hesder yeshiva in Beit She'an. In 2014 he moved to south Tel Aviv, and with Rabbi Ahiad Ettinger he founded the Oz Ve'emuna yeshiva, where he taught until 2019.

Ettinger was killed in a shooting attack near Ariel in 2019, and Wasserlauf then set up the Ahiad association for south Tel Aviv neighborhoods. He joined Otzma Yehudit before the 21st Knesset elections and ran on its lists in several elections in which it did not pass the threshold.

In 2022 he was fifth on a joint list that won 14 seats, was sworn in on 15 November 2022 and became minister for the development of the Negev and Galilee. He resigned with the other party ministers in January 2025 over the ceasefire deal with Hamas, and was reappointed on 19 March 2025. He is married, lives in north Tel Aviv and studies law at Ono Academic College.
