Anton Nossik was a Russian journalist, editor and blogger who helped start Russian online news outlets such as Lenta.ru and Gazeta.ru.

Anton Nosik was born in 1966 in Moscow

Nossik was born in Moscow on 4 July 1966 to a Jewish family. His father was the writer Boris Nossik and his mother was the philologist Victoria Mochalova. The artist Ilya Kabakov was his stepfather.

He graduated from the Moscow State University of Medicine and Dentistry. In the early 1990s he moved to Israel and worked for a time at the Jerusalem Post. He returned to Russia in 1997.

He edited the online news sites Vesti.ru, Lenta.ru, Gazeta.ru and NEWSru.com. He was a manager at Rambler and at SUP Media, which owns LiveJournal, and founded the charity Pomogi.org. In 2009 he became deputy general director of United Media and chief editor of Bfm.ru.

Nossik criticized Russian government limits on Internet freedom. In 2016 a Moscow court convicted him of inciting hatred over a 2015 blog post about Syria and fined him. He died of a heart attack on 9 July 2017 in Moscow Oblast.
