Boaz Sharabi was born in 1947 in Tel Aviv

Sharabi was born in Tel Aviv in 1947 to a Yemenite Jewish family with 10 children. He had a twin sister, Ada, who was recorded as dying at birth, but he believes she was taken in the Yemenite Children Affair. His brothers include entertainer Yoel, choreographer Baruch and songwriter Nehemia.

He began drumming at age 10 and later played drums in several rock bands. His first band was called Kovshei Hakatzav. He then accompanied the Carmon dance troupe on percussion and flutes.

His first song, "Pamela" in English, reached radio in 1971, and his debut album followed that year. He won the Kinor David prize as composer of the year in 1971 and placed second at the 1972 Israel Song Festival. During the Yom Kippur War he served in a reserve entertainment troupe with Uzi Hitman.

In late 1978 he moved to the United States and returned to Israel in 1983. In 1984 he recorded the album "Etzli Hakol Beseder" and acted in the film Beyond the Walls. He worked closely with Ehud Manor and Matti Caspi and sang a duet with Shoshana Damari.

After a long break he released the album "Linshom" in 2007, and its song "Im at Adayin Ohevet Oti" was named song of the year. He lives in Caesarea and has been married 3 times.
