Moshe Levy was born in 1946 in Tunisia

Moshe Levy was born in Tunisia in 1946. His siblings were killed in World War II in a German bombing, and in 1948 he immigrated to Israel with his parents. He grew up in an absorption camp and then in Magdiel, where his father died when Levy was 8.

He studied at the Neve Amiel yeshiva high school in Sde Ya'akov and at the Youth Aliyah HaShomer farm in Ilaniya. He later moved from Yavne to Ashdod. After his mandatory service he joined the police, working in the Special Tasks Department of the Tel Aviv District, and later worked at Elta.

In the Yom Kippur War he joined his reserve battalion on his own initiative and commanded a half-track in Sinai. On October 15, 1973, his unit was hit in an Egyptian ambush and his right arm was cut off. He then threw a grenade into an enemy post and was decorated with the Medal of Valor.

After recovering, he earned bachelor's and master's degrees in business administration in the United States. In 1983 he returned to Israel and served as CEO of Magal Systems for 5 years. He then became CEO of Safeguards Technology in the United States and later bought the company, which secures sites such as nuclear reactors and US military bases.

In 2013 he appeared in a documentary marking 40 years since the Yom Kippur War, and that year he returned to live in Israel. In 2016 he bought the Saslove Winery with Zvika Greengold and Israel Lang, and named his daughter Sigal its CEO.
