ראש השב״כ ימנה ועדה מייעצת לבחינת בקשות לפי תקנה 3(5) למתן אות המערכה ברצועת הביטחון בלבנון, שבראשה יכהן ראש חטיבה בשב״כ; הוועדה תדון בבקשות כאמור ותעביר את המלצותיה לראש מש״א.
