כל עוד לא הוחל בגביית ראיות, רשאי בית המשפט מזמן לזמן לדחות את מועד תחילת המשפט או המשכו כפי הצורך; הוחל בגביית הראיות, ימשיך ברציפות יום יום עד גמירא, זולת אם ראה, מטעמים שיירשמו, כי אין כל אפשרות לנהוג כך.
