עוכב שוטר חובה, לא יעלה משך העיכוב מעל לזמן סביר הדרוש, בנסיבות המקרה, לביצוע הפעולות שלשמן הוקנתה סמכות זו, ובלבד שמשך העיכוב לא יעלה על שלוש שעות.
