החלטה של בית משפט לפי חוק זה בעניינו של קטין, תינתן לאחר שניתנה לקטין הזדמנות להביע את עמדתו לפני בית המשפט, ובקבלת ההחלטה יינתן משקל ראוי לעמדתו של הקטין, בהתחשב בגילו ובמידת בגרותו; בית המשפט יסביר לקטין את החלטתו בשפה ובאופן המובנים לו בהתחשב בגילו ובמידת בגרותו; בסעיף זה, ”הזדמנות להביע עמדה“ – כמשמעותה בסעיף 1ב.
