יושב ראש הכנסת, לאחר התייעצות עם סגניו ובאישור ועדת הכנסת, יקבע את המועדים שבהם ייפתחו ויסתיימו כנסי הכנסת, בכפוף לאמור בסעיף 9 לחוק הכנסת.
