חשוד שנעצר, חייב הקצין הבודק להודיע לו מה החשד נגדו ורשאי הוא לצלמו ולקחת טביעות אצבעותיו ככל שיידרש לצרכי החקירה.
פורסמו תקנות השיפוט הצבאי (מתן טביעת אצבעות), תשכ״ח–1968, לפיהן מי שהוטל עליו מאסר על תנאי, חייב לתת את טביעת אצבעותיו משנדרש לכך על ידי קצין משטרה צבאי.
