26. משך העיכוב
(א)לא יעוכב אדם או כלי רכב מעל לזמן סביר הדרוש, בנסיבות המקרה, לביצוע הפעולה שלשמה הוקנתה סמכות העיכוב.
(ב)בכל מקרה, לא יעוכב אדם או כלי רכב לפרק זמן העולה על שלוש שעות ואולם רשאי קצין צה״ל בדרגת סא״ל לפחות או קצין משטרה, להאריך את משך העיכוב לפרק זמן נוסף שלא יעלה על שלוש שעות נוספות, מנימוקים שיירשמו.
