חל מועד הנקוב בחוק זה לביצוע פדיון ביום שאינו יום עסקים בנקאי, יידחה המועד ליום העסקים הבנקאי הראשון שלאחריו; לענין זה, ”יום עסקים בנקאי“ – יום שבו פועלים רוב סניפי התאגידים הבנקאיים ואשר לגביו נוהגים התאגידים הבנקאיים לקיים סליקה של שיקים, חיובים אחרים וזיכויים.
