Asaf Avidan went from animation school in Jerusalem to the top of Europe's charts

Asaf Avidan was born in Jerusalem in 1980. He studied animation at the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design, worked as an animator and a voice actor, and in 2006 released his first EP, Now That You're Leaving.

With his band Asaf Avidan & the Mojos he released three albums, starting with The Reckoning (2008), which went gold in Israel without a record label behind it. In 2012 a remix of its Reckoning Song by the German DJ Wankelmut, One Day / Reckoning Song, went to No. 1 in Germany, Austria, Italy, the Netherlands and Switzerland.

His solo debut, Different Pulses (2012), went platinum in France, and Galgalatz named him its Man of the Year in Music, the first winner who does not sing in Hebrew. His later albums include Gold Shadow (2015), Anagnorisis (2020) and Unfurl (2025).
