Mordechai Shapiro went from a boy soloist in the Miami Boys Choir to the Billboard charts

Mordechai Shapiro was born in Monsey, New York, in 1989, and made his debut in 1997 as a soloist with the Miami Boys Choir, where he stayed until his voice changed in 2003. As a boy soloist, at the choir's 25th-anniversary show, he sang Racheim with Yaakov Shwekey.

After studying with the voice teacher William Riley, he began his solo career in 2016 with Kol Haderech, which reached No. 15 on Billboard's world music chart; Machar (2017) reached No. 3 and Hakol Mishamayim (2019) No. 7. He is known for big music videos with elaborate sets and dancers, and the video for Hakol Mishamayim passed 14 million views on YouTube.

In 2021 he recorded Sing It, 57 Jewish classics, with the Freilach Band, and in 2022 he released the album Achas and Lechai Olamim, a duet with Benny Friedman that was named song of the year on two radio charts. In October 2023 Kol Barama radio named him singer of the year, and in August 2025 he released his fifth album, Yehei Rava.
