Assaf Itzhaki found his audience online rather than on television

Assaf Itzhaki was born in 1984 in Rishon LeZion and grew up there. He started doing stand-up as a teenager at the Camel Comedy Club, and wrote for television entertainment shows including HaYechal HaTarbut, Mischak Machur, Moadon Layla and HaStandupistim.

He is known for stand-up about subjects many comedians avoid, sex above all, and by his own account would not soften it for television, so his audience grew online instead: from the 2013 sketch series Stas Aman Pituy, through clips from his shows that drew millions of views from 2015, to his full special Amok Yoter, filmed at the Tel Aviv Opera House and released in 2023, which passed a million views in less than a year.

In 2024 he launched the podcast and web series BaGag Shel Itzhaki, whose episodes reached hundreds of thousands of views within weeks; it came back for a second season in August 2026. On stage he tours halls around the country and hosts Bdikat Chomarim, evenings of new material with fellow comedians at the Stand-Up Factory in Tel Aviv, open to over-18s.
