Giora Zinger left a career in software for the stage and turned his Russian-Israeli home into stand-up
Giora Zinger was born in 1983 in Ternopil, Ukraine, then part of the Soviet Union, and came to Israel with his family in 1990, growing up in Kfar Saba. He studied computer science and worked as a programmer, and in 2005 he began doing stand-up at open-mic nights at the Camel Comedy Club and the Comedy Bar in Tel Aviv, where he became a regular house comedian.
After a preparatory year at the Yoram Loewenstein acting studio he studied acting at the Seminar HaKibbutzim school from 2011 to 2014, and then left software for the stage. In 2015 he opened his solo show HaKomi-nist, which tells among other things of his life as an Israeli of Russian and Ukrainian origin, and founded the trio Shlishiyat Be'Erekh with Yossi Gavni and Omer Burstein. The trio's first online sketch reached millions of views.
From 2016 the trio also toured a joint show of stand-up and sketches, and in 2018 it starred in the HOT docu-drama Caesarea Express. Zinger has appeared in the comedy series Comedy Star on Reshet 13 since 2020 and on the panel of Ma Kore Po? since 2025, co-hosts the comic sports podcast Be'Erekh Sport, and tours a stand-up show about his Russian home and the Israeli one, about couples and about parents.
