Daniel Chen has done stand-up since he was 19, and Haaretz called him the best-kept secret of Israeli comedy
Daniel Chen grew up in Tel Aviv and has performed stand-up since he was 19; he names the comedian Amiram Tovim as his mentor. In 2019 Haaretz called him the best-kept secret of the Israeli comedy industry, a stand-up who takes comedy to psychedelic places.
In 2016 he wrote the comedy series Shutafim for HOT Comedy Central and played Hemi in one episode. In 2020 he was a guest on Mo'adon Laila on Keshet 12 and made the parody Zugotayim with his friend Tamir Bar for Kan 11. In 2021 he joined the cast of Sipurim MeHakursa, during the 2022 World Cup he hosted HaNivcheret Shel Daniel on Kan 11, and in 2023 he had a guest role in the third season of Levad BaBayit on Kan Educational.
He is one of the creators of Bad Boy, a drama series made with Ron Leshem, Daniel Amsel and Hagar Ben-Asher, in which he also acts. It premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2023, aired on HOT from November 2024 and on Netflix from 2 May 2025, won seven Israeli Television Academy awards, including best drama, and was nominated for the International Emmy for best drama series in 2025.
