Jane Bordeaux began with four friends from the Rimon music school playing country in Hebrew
Jane Bordeaux is an Israeli folk and country band that sings in Hebrew. It was formed in Tel Aviv in 2012 by four friends, among them singer Doron Talmon and bassist Mati Gilad, who met at the Rimon School of Music. The band started out playing country rock and later moved to an acoustic folk-country sound.
Their first single, Einav, came out in August 2014, and the debut album, Jane Bordeaux, paid for by a crowdfunding campaign, followed in October. The next single, Eich Efshar SheLo (How Can We Not), became the most played song on Galgalatz, the album went gold in 2016, and the satire show Eretz Nehederet added a parody version of the band, Kate Marlowe.
Since then they have released Mah SheChashuv (2017), Oceans (2019), a covers album and a live album with guest singers (both 2020) and Kishuf (2024), which features Chava Alberstein and Eden Derso. Alongside Talmon and Gilad, the line-up today is Yoav Arbel on drums, Rami Osserwasser on guitars and Stav Achai on keyboards.
