Harel Moyal learned guitar from his father at 15 and won Kokhav Nolad in 2004

Harel Moyal was born in Jerusalem in 1981 and grew up in Ma'ale Adumim. His father taught him guitar at 15, and within a month he was writing songs of his own; he also plays banjo, oud, piano, harmonica and percussion. In August 2004 he won the second season of Kokhav Nolad, singing Ner Al HaChalon in the final at Nitzanim, ahead of Harel Skaat and Adi Cohen.

His debut album, Harel Moyal (2005), went gold, and its first single, Emtza HaLayla BaKfar, became a hit. He wrote and composed most of its songs and all of those on his second album, Levadi, which went platinum and gave him Lo Makirim Otach, a No. 1 on the Galgalatz chart. In 2015 he released Ehiye Lach Osher, which became one of the popular love and wedding songs in Israel.

He has also starred in musicals: Kmo BaSeret with Yehoram Gaon in 2006, which also toured North America, Sallah Shabati in 2018, and Nesich Mitzrayim in 2022, in the lead role of Moses. In 2024 he marked 20 years since Kokhav Nolad with a new show, and he keeps releasing singles, among them 1990 and Gibor MiNeyar in 2026.
