Hatikva 6 is named after the Ramat HaSharon house where it all began
Hatikva 6 began in 2003 in Ramat HaSharon, and the name is the Glickman family's address, 6 HaTikva Street, where Omri and Shelly Glickman grew up. Omri sings and plays guitar, Shelly sings and plays keyboards, and the band plays reggae with hip hop.
Their first single, Im Efgosh et Elohim (If I Meet God), made their name in 2007, and the debut album followed that August. In 2011 they competed in Israel's Eurovision selection with Hakol Sababa and played the Rototom Sunsplash reggae festival in Spain.
Galgalatz named them among its people of the year in music in 2015 and again in 2016, the year Omri and Shelly began hosting a weekly show on the station. They have released nine studio albums, the latest Vayehi Or (2025), produced by the rapper Ravid Plotnik, and in 2025 Israel Hayom's annual chart named them band of the year.
