Read more about Ariel Horowitz:
Ariel Horowitz came to Rimon to study jazz piano and found his way as a songwriter
Ariel Horowitz was born in Tel Aviv in 1970. After his army service he went to the Rimon School of Music to study jazz piano, and there he met Yehuda Eder, one of his teachers, who brought him to the Helicon label and produced his debut album, Yalla Bye (1998). The album sold more than 15,000 copies, and Sigal Nachmias and the title song made his name as a writer of hits.
He also writes for other singers: Ha'Ahava Meta, which he wrote and composed for Tamar Giladi's debut album, was ACUM's song of the year for 2000, and he has written for Chava Alberstein, Arkadi Duchin and Ayala Ingedashet. His own albums went on with Renée (2002), whose title song was a big hit on the radio and the charts, Menase Sefer (2004), Zman Emet (2007), Album 5 (2010), HaGiborim Sheli (2013) and Kshe'Banu HaBayta (2019).
In 2016 he founded, with other musicians, the association that led to Shiri, an app for streaming Israeli music later developed by the National Library. His debut novel, Sivuv HaHofaot Shel HaGolem MiPrag, came out from Yedioth Books in 2023, and the songs of the band in the book became his eighth album. In 2025 he went on tour with Kshe'Ima Ba'a Hena, a tribute to Naomi Shemer marking 20 years since her death, with a house band of young singer-songwriters called HaAchayot Shemer 24. He teaches songwriting at Rimon and Mizmor.
