Yoni Bloch writes melodic rock with a sense of humour, most of it with the lyricist Barak Feldman
Yoni Bloch was born in 1981 and grew up in Beersheba. He taught himself guitar and drums, began writing and composing songs at 14, and later served in the Israeli Air Force band. His start came on Bama Hadasha, a website for new artists, where his songs reached the record company NMC, and soon they were playing on the radio.
His debut album, Ulay Ze Ani (2004), was melodic rock with a sense of humour, most of its lyrics by his long-time partner Barak Feldman, and its hits included Makir Oto, Napoleon, Na'im BaHutz and HaTkef Lev Katan. Hergelim Ra'im followed in 2007 with Achrayut, Nof Acher and Siba La'azov, and Al Mi Ani Oved (2008) also came out as a 45-minute film of clips he shot himself. He composed the theme songs of TV series such as HaPijamot and HaShir Shelanu, and songs for Ninet Tayeb, Efrat Gosh and Miri Mesika.
He co-founded the interactive video company Interlude, now called Eko, which he leads as chief executive. He came back to songs in Hebrew in 2021 with Tislechi Li, returns from time to time for a short run of shows at the Barby club in Tel Aviv, re-recorded his debut album in 2024, 20 years after it first came out, and in May 2025 his fourth album, HiTech, reached the streaming services.
