Peled grew up in Menahemia and broke through in 2012 with a song that now has a festival named after it
Peled is the stage name of Itay Peled, who was born in 1986 and grew up in the Ofer neighbourhood of Menahemia. He started out in 2004 in the rap group P.R. Troopers, and after it broke up he formed a duo with Ortega, whose debut album, Mamshichim Liv'ot, came out in 2007 on the High Fiber label.
His first solo album, Ch.R.K.O.T (2012), produced by Uri Shochat and Michael Cohen, included the hit Basim BaBagaz. HaKol Alay followed in 2016, Sababa 5 in 2018 with Ze Lo Me'anyen Oti and Ma Ani Nir'e Lecha, and Haravot BaPita in 2020. He has also been a guest on songs by Hadag Nahash, in 2013 and again in 2016.
In 2023 he released Tate We Made It, whose song Azavt Et HaBayit, with Nastya Rod, did well on the charts, and in 2025 two albums, Ke'ev VeDma'ot in January and Ke'ev VeDma'ot 2 in March, the second marked by nu-metal. In August 2026 he headlined the first Basim BaBagaz hip-hop festival, named after his song, at Amphi Tel Aviv.
