Two Guys is a skewer grill in the arcade of Rova Alef's commercial centre on Shavei Tzion Street, and one of the veteran restaurants of Ashdod. The name is older than the grill: about 40 years ago, ynet wrote in September 2025, an American couple opened an American-style ice-cream parlour on the spot and called it Two Guys, and its sign, in English at first, later changed to Hebrew. Shimon Ohana, who came to Israel from Morocco at 14 and is in charge of the fire, told ynet that his father-in-law took over the place and turned it into a skewer grill, and that he has since died and his son, Shlomi Ovadia, is there now. On the fire go chicken thighs, kebabs, offal, turkey and mixed grills, entrecôte, liver and Moroccan-style patties seasoned with coriander, onion and cumin, served on a plate, in a pita or in a baguette with chips and salads, as Israel Hayom and Ashdod's tourism site list them; ynet's Amir Kaminer also had the stuffed spleen, kept in foil behind the glass, in a pita with the house salads. Ohana told ynet that chicken thighs and patties sell most today and that the customers are regulars, young and old, and chef Evyatar Malka, who grew up in the quarter, called him a legendary grill man and remembered the baguettes with a chicken skewer and spicy sausage of his childhood. Israel Hayom described it in 2021 as no upscale restaurant but a half-improvised place with a wide grill and plastic tables and chairs, there for decades, where every Ashdodi has eaten, and in April 2025 chose it among ten Ashdod recommendations as a meat and skewers restaurant that smells of Independence Day all year round. ynet put prices at 45 to 100 shekels. It is kosher, on the Ashdod religious council's list.
