Zenbowl calls itself Ashdod's poke bowl, poke with a restaurant touch. Its site says it was born from movement, travel and a love of good food: the people behind it tasted their way through Japan and Hawaii, Portugal and Australia and brought ideas home into a bowl, made for people on the move, before or after training, in the middle of a working day or on the way to the sea. Bowls start from sushi rice, brown rice, mixed leaves or glass noodles, and come with salmon or tuna sashimi, miso-glazed baked salmon, steamed chicken breast, beef brisket, tofu, shiitake or miso aubergine, with sauces and crunchy toppings to add. Every bowl on the menu shows its calories and grams of protein, and the drinks are fruit gazoz.
